We all know what a big deal is to appear within social media as well with your business. We live through times when people can be found rather spending time on Facebook than in a local restaurant for instance. So it’s a fact, no need to ask yourself any longer. It’s a must to be on social media and market your business there. Now the remaining question is which social media should you pick when it comes down to priorities.
I’ve been wondering lately a lot about peoples’ preferences. What do people first pick? Check their Facebook straight in the morning or see what someone posted on Twitter? And you know what? This is the main question you need to answer when it comes to your business as well. Because what the answer is, that’s what will design your marketing technique on social media!
First things first. If I were to be asked the question, which one to choose, Facebook or Twitter, my answer would be an obvious BOTH!
Why? Because we are talking about social media platforms that deliver their information in different ways. We can compare statistics yes, but all in all, each and every online apparition that our business has, is a plus on our side!
But these differences are exactly what we are going to focus on, so that you can see that each of the two choices is a good choice, but why one would be the better option for your own business!
Audience
What matters most at every social media platform you are going to try, is the target audience, your target audience and how well it’s encapsulated in the audience that uses that specific social media. Facebook is seen by the most users as the perfect place to stay in touch, to connect with friends, family that is away and maybe even business partners. That makes it easy to understand why the majority of Facebook users tend to be more senior in age than Twitter users. Twitter is meant mostly for the young and active, constantly on the move, never having enough time to read a long post.
However, the thing is that Twitter is not active just with users like you and me but also popular with politicians and public figures. This means that Twitter can be the place to find the latest news also.
Hence, you need to pay attention when it comes to prioritizing your energy and which social media platform you invest in more time and money in. this is why it’s essential to know your target audience so that you can make assumptions regarding their favorite social media platform.
What about engagement?
It’s great to pay attention to your public audience but it’s all for nothing if they don’t engage with your page. Studies and statistics show that people tend to engage more on Facebook rather than Twitter. But this only makes sense if you think of how much space and how many possibilities you have on Facebook to market your brand. Also, according to statistics, Facebook is the most addictive app out there, so it’s quite logical to spend a great deal of time swiping. Whereas tweets become old and outdated in a very short amount of time, compared to Facebook posts.
How well can you advertise?
When we talk about advertising, we have to bear in mind that both social media platforms are great at doing their job. However, when we think about Facebook we cannot neglect Facebook Pixel which has a great deal of advantages and offers targeted reach for customers. Twitter also offers the chance to use lead generation cards, which help you get leads and stats on your campaigns asap.
Coming to think of it and reflecting upon the info we provided so far, it’s basically up to you and your company’s needs which social media platform is the most appropriate to use. It depends on your target audience and on your marketing schedule that you have in plan for your business. What’s important, though, is to be active and be present on social media.
